Our Journey.

View "Our Journey" slide show of Suwan and Anchalee below.

Today, we played an airplane. I lift the girls up in my arms one at the time and swayed them side way repeatedly pretending that they were airplanes flying in the air. They loved it and didn't seem to get enough of it.
I got tired and lied down on the floor. They didn't let me rest but climbed up on me. I was happy buy exhausted.
I made them macaroni and cheese for lunch and had plenty left over for dinner, baked zucchini muffin for tomorrow breakfast, did the laundry, and packed for a short trip tomorrow to a beach. I went out to water the garden. I got sprayed with a hose and got eaten alive by mosquitoes. Then my husband called, he said he was on his way home from conference and need picked up at the metro. I called a friends to go get him. At lease I feel good to know that the girls will have macaroni and cheese, stir fry chicken and squash, steam apple for dinner. But, I still have to think about my dinner? Maybe I'll have steak!
These are just some parts of my day that I can remember and my day isn't over yet. I knew that I would have a very interesting day this morning when I discovered that my senile cat had pooped in my bath tub! So, how was your day?

I wish my mom was here.

I remember my mom used to tell me to look up the moon in the sky when I missed her or when I need her. She said "I'll be looking at the moon and thinking of you too". We were not together often. Mom and Dad worked in Bangkok and rarely got a chance to visit us. My sister and I lived in the remote villege with my grandfather and we attended school there. Whenever I missed my mom, I would sit on the ladder and look for the moon. I told the moon to give my mom my thought and my love for her. My mom passed away when I was 13 years old (about 22 years ago) but I still look at the moon every time I miss her. I didn't get a chance to tell her that I love her and to say good buy. Whenever I see the moon, I think of her. I wish she was here with me so that I could share my joy of motherhood with her. I'm sure she would love being with my girls! Don't wait! Tell your mom you love her now!

14 months old and potty training already?

(Suwan and Anchalee enjoy playing with their portable chairs during a picnic.)
I got frustrated when Suwan started to poop every time after I gave her a shower or a bath in the morning. Yes, shower. She loves to stand under the running water and opens her mouth to catch the water. Anyway, back to the pooping thing. Sometimes, she pooped in the shower right after she finished. Sometimes, she pooped right in a bath during bathing. The worst one was when she pooped on the carpet before I can put a diaper on. This also happens with Anchalee except she has peed instead of pooped. I got tired of cleaning up after poops! How many more poops I have to go through before they are potty trained? I have an idea that babies like to do their business with their bared bottoms. It makes sense since it seems so natural to them.

So, what is my solution ? May be I should get them potty chairs. I read that average age for potty train is about 3 years old. That seems to me pretty old for training. I can't imagine the amount of diapers I have to go through with these two girls. Hay, What ta heck!, I thought. I told my husband that I'm going to buy the girls potty chairs. He supported my idea and helped me pick out the potty chairs. We bought two very simple plastic potty chairs that are easy to clean. I let the twins play with them for awhile. They liked to sit on them and take out the inner container parts. Later that day, I hid the potty chairs in the bathroom with the door close. I don't want the girls to think that these are toys to them.

Sunday was the girls first potty training day. I put the girls on the potty chairs right after they woke up in the morning. They sat next to each other. To my surprise, Anchalee peed in it right away, but Suwan didn't. All day long, I kept putting them on the potty chair right ater their feeding and meal times. It turned out that no one has gone pooped that day. Anchalee did well, she peeped 3 out of 4 times. Suwan peeped 1 out of 4 times. Yesterday, Monday, Anchalee did both poop and pee in the pot. Suwan did pee and just a little poop. So far, I am pretty pleased with the results. I know this won't be easy and it probably will drive me nut!
