It used to be so simple to change a diaper, I could just unwrap it, wipe the baby, inspect the skin and close it up. It isn't like that any more. Thing began to change since Suwan and Anchalee started to crawl when they were 6 months old. Most of the time during diaper changing sessions, the girls would turn, kick diaper off and crawl away. Now they're a year old, they would run off as soon as the diapers are out. It has been quite struggling job for me. I am the one who do the job most of the time and the girls know that. They seem to enjoy making me chasing them around like playing games with smiles on their face. Anchalee, the younger one, likes to run in to the bathroom and pees on the floor. I told my husband that it's time to buy her a potty.
What so interesting about this is that the girls don't make a fuss with daddy when he changes diapers. In fact, they would laughs and cooperate with him. This makes me laugh every time I see it.
I'm searching for a new strategies to make the girls focus during changing time. I've tried singing, massaging, rubbing the legs and toes and a few other things. They worked for awhile. The children these ages are so easily distracted. They just want to see and learn every thing they encounter. This diaper stuff is just part of my daily routine beside cooking, feeding and bathing my girls. I've heard that some people use duct tapes to secure diapers so that baby can't take them off. I can see that's coming in the future. My Suwan has already learned how to take hers off. I'm not looking forward to this part at all !
They can be naughty but they're sure cute and funny though.
